Founder & Director of GenerationResearch
Describe GenRes in three words:
Why is GenRes important:
Crucial to the continued delivery of impactful science and advances in healthcare is the engagement of diverse communities to create the R&D workforce of the future. However, essential investment in early-career stages currently fails to reach some of the most talented students.
Why did you set up GenerationResearch:
Having grown up in a working-class family in Wakefield, West Yorkshire without many examples of higher education, I know how difficult itisto work out what is required when you make it to university. We have so many talented science graduates and should not be wasting that talent. Early, paid and authentic opportunities are crucial to enable these potential future scientists.
