‍What did you enjoy most about your studentship?

I really enjoyed working in the lab and finding results which haven't been published before. I also enjoyed getting to know people in the lab group and learning from all of them!

‍

How has your GenRes experience impacted you and has it given you a different perspective on anything in particular?

I have been able to actually see what goes on in a research lab and what the day to day life of research looks like which I really enjoy. GenRes has given me to opportunity to experience this. I have also really enjoyed being able to work in an area of research which I am interested in (rather than working in a cafe over summer). GenRes has allowed me to connect with different researchers and find out more about their career journeys which has helped me see that I can get to where I want to through conventional and unconventional ways.

‍

Do you have any words for our GenRes funders?

THANK YOU!! This placement would never been something I would be able to access if it was not for GenRes, so thank you for your support. You have helped give me a head start in research and also find out that research is definitely a career which I want to have.
